Botox

Botox is offered as one of the many subsurface injections that may be performed by Dr. Rucker after consultation at Enza Medispa, Eau Claire WI. It is primarily used to treat dynamic facial wrinkling. Botox is a toxin extracted from the bacterium Clostridium botulinum, and is a safe and effective way to reduce facial wrinkling without surgery. Fine needle injections target the facial muscles that contract to cause dynamic wrinkles.

These muscles stop contracting when treated, significantly reducing the wrinkles of skin above the muscle. The effect may last 3-6 months, at which time the muscle regains movement and wrinkles will reappear. Botox administration is done in our Enza Medispa and is a 5-minute procedure. The affect of the Botox begins to occur within 3 days after the treatment. By the end of the first week you will probably notice a reduction of fine lines and wrinkles around the targeted areas. Some patients may have some immediate bruising from the injection. Most patients return to normal social activity within 4-24 hours. Botox injections may be repeated after the effects wear off.
